Learning to live by Universal Principles begins with Hope, But one primary Principle within all of them is the Principle of Surrender. Someone once told that anytime I walked into a recovery meeting and I didn’t know what the topic was. The topic was always ‘surrender.’ And what that meant for me at first was to surrender to my own thoughts because that’s all I knew how to do. I could not imagine having the Life I have today.

I remember what my life was like back then.

I remember those days of not being able to function without help in liquid form. My personnel coordinator (the guy who gave me work) would often make the joke, “Red Bull before a gig, Red Dog after.” He may have been being funny, but it was a reality. I would walk into a gig with a four pack of Red Bull. As soon as the gig was over, I was looking for a six-pack. Red Dog was the best I could afford at that time.

Feb 11th – No Pain in Change!

“There is no pain in change, only in the resistance to change.” Something I learned from my dad, many years ago. My life today is all about change. My wife and I are trying to work towards establishing some routine, particularly when the kids are concerned. But our lives are still a work in progress.

As I work to complete the JnP(Journey in Principles) meditations, I’m attempting to develop a healthy habit of consistently working towards this goal. But while we are both developing our routines, we are both having to learn to fluctuate and bend with unforeseen events that come up.  Continue reading “Feb 11th – No Pain in Change!”
