A brother and predecessor of mine was asked to speak at a speaker jam. (a special recovery event were there are multiple speakers back to back, each given a specific topic)
This was a man I had known since I was 16. At the time he had close to 30 yrs in 12 step recovery.
This morning, I had to call my wife to come pick me up from the automotive garage. What was hopefully a simple (and inexpensive) front end alignment, turned out to be a significant repair on the front end, running well over $1000. Continue reading “I Still Find Myself Falling Short”
I remember those days of not being able to function without help in liquid form. My personnel coordinator (the guy who gave me work) would often make the joke, “Red Bull before a gig, Red Dog after.” He may have been being funny, but it was a reality. I would walk into a gig with a four pack of Red Bull. As soon as the gig was over, I was looking for a six-pack. Red Dog was the best I could afford at that time.
