Where has all the time gone?

Some would be overwhelmed by the waterfall; others would be overwhelmed with the EXPERIENCE!

There are times in life when we feel overwhelmed by all the things we need to accomplish. For some of us, this can be a daily norm. And it very well may be true. We have to mow the lawn, clear away all the dead branches. Pick up kids from school. Take them to their after school activities, be it karate, Scouts, dance, etc. Repairing damage to your website after a mishap that cost you two months worth of work. There is always something in front of us that requires our attention.

Housework is the type of work that no one notices unless it’s not done.

A Work in Progress

Work for progress
We are only a work in progress if we are doing the work to progress.

“I’m a work in progress.”
This is such a common phrase these days. You’ve probably even said it yourself a few times. I know I’ve used it before. Usually after having made some error of some sort. This statement may be meant to be utilized in a humbling and honest manner. But it is important to recognize how easily this phrase can be used as an excuse or cop-out.

We are all a work in progress. But, it is important to understand the difference between using such phrases as a crutch. Becoming complacent and giving into or making excuses for our imperfections. Or being able to accept our own shortcomings and strive to learn from them. Becoming a better version of ourselves in the process. Continue reading “A Work in Progress”

Nobody’s Perfect so why Practice?

“If practice makes perfect, but nobody is perfect. Then Why Practice?”

This was a question I once heard during a group conversation. It was several years ago, and I was not prepared for such a question. Quite honestly, it completely stumped me. And over the years I have found myself pondering that very question.

Perfection is in the Journey

We practice towards perfection, not for the attainment of perfection. But for the growth of the experience. I practice because I want to be better than I am.
